IP Telephony and Critical Traffic Management
The IP Telephony Environment Monitor (ITEM) bundle helps the network administrator ensure
the readiness and manageability of converged networks that support IP telephony traffic and
applications. The applications within this bundle perform proactive monitoring of Cisco voice
elements in the network in order to alert operations personnel of potential problems and help
minimize telephony network downtime.
Security and Identity Management
The CiscoWorks Virtual Private Network (VPN)/Security Management Solution (VMS) bundle
is an integral element of the SAFE Blueprint for Enterprise Network Security from Cisco, and
contributes to organizational productivity by combining web-based tools for configuring,
monitoring, and troubleshooting VPNs, firewalls, network intrusion detection systems (IDSs),
and host intrusion prevention systems (IPSs). CiscoWorks VMS also includes network device
inventory, change audit, and software distribution features.
